Located on the north Antrim coast, close to the famous Giant’s Causeway, lies the Bushmills distillery. In 1784, the company’s founders launched their venture. On the other hand, Bushmills has a long and storied history that begins in 1608 when a local landowner was awarded a license to produce whiskey. Bushmills claims this distinction, calling itself “the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery” (though this is disputed by some). Although many other Irish whiskey factories were destroyed by fire in 1985 and Prohibition in the United States, this one has persisted.

Bushmills makes authentic Irish whiskey in the classic triple distillation style. The brand’s offerings span from standard blends (Black Bush and The Original) to Single Malt Whiskies (10, 16, and 21 years old), a Cask Finish line, and special releases (The Causeway Collection).

Single Malt Rare Irish 16 YO

The Bushmills 16-Year-Old is a combination of single malt whiskies that have spent at least 16 years aging in Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks. After 6–9 months of aging in Port Pipes, the resultant colour is a deep, dark crimson that is perfect for re-casing. Flavours of praline, honey, candied fruit, and roasted almonds burst out on the broad and powerful nose that hints at caramel candy. The finish is rich, with cherry jam and bittersweet chocolate overtones.

10-year-old Whiskey

An outstanding Irish single malt, Bushmills 10 YO is triple-distilled, aged, blended, and bottled at the oldest licensed whiskey distillery in the world using only the finest bourbon barrels and sherry butts. Colour: Golden Amber

Smells: Bright citrus fruit notes mingle with the signature honey sweetness of Bushmills, then fresh vanilla and milk chocolate linger. Flavour: Fresh honeysuckle and vanilla milk chocolate with hints of toasted wood combine for a smooth finish.

Bushmills 20-year-old Whiskey

Rare, cask-strength, and unchill-filtered, the 2000 Port Cask is an Irish Single Malt that was released in a very restricted run. It’s Bushmills’ next big step, and it’s a tribute to the forefathers and the generations before them, as well as the unparalleled natural setting from which the distillery was born.

This exceptional Single Malt was matured exclusively in a small batch of original Ruby Port barrels. Malt has huge, powerful, and exquisite red fruit flavors because to its remarkable twenty-year maturation in wine barrels from northern Portugal. Over time, the brighter strawberry and raspberry undertones have matured into a more complex, rich, and sugary fruit jam flavour. The waves of sweet, caramelized toffee aromas are countered by a dash of sweet chilli imparted by the fortified Port Wine barrel.

The end result is a one-of-a-kind, sensationally deep crimson gold Whiskey that is brimming with red fruit aromas, caramelized toffee, and a warming allspice aftertaste. An outstanding Whiskey that competes well with the finest examples of Irish Single Malt.
